Nexus Personal Mobile combines online two-factor authentication (2FA) using push notifications and offline one-time password (OTP) authentication in a single mobile app.

To authenticate with Personal Mobile using push notifications, the user verifies that the random picture shown in the mobile app is the same as in the target application. This is done by pressing the smartphone’s fingerprint reader, using iPhone Face ID or typing in a PIN. To authenticate with Personal Mobile using time-based OTPs (TOTPs), the user enters a traditional, static password and a TOTP to gain access.

Personal Mobile is used together with Nexus Personal Messaging, which includes services for online authentication and signing and for sending push notifications. Personal Mobile can be connected to the Nexus Smart ID solution or to external solutions to enable trusted identity authentication and signing.
