Physical access entitlement

With the Smart ID Physical access module, you can be in full control of the physical access rights of your employees and external users. Access profiles can be imported from your connected physical access control systems (PACS), and then managed in Smart ID Identity Manager

Use case overview

Manage entitlement for employees

The following use cases are about managing entitlement, entitlement approvers, and self-service rights for a certain employee. These use cases are available to the role Entitlement requester

Administrate entitlements and roles

The following use cases describe how to administrate entitlements (access profiles) and create entitlement roles. These use cases are available to the role Entitlement administrator

Approval types

Entitlements can have the following approval types. The type is configured when an entitlement is activated.

Approval steps

Without approval 
  • The entitlement will be directly assigned to an employee, without need for approval steps.
1-step approval
  • The assigned Entitlement approver is notified about the request and must approve the request first.
2-step approval
  • The assigned Entitlement approver is notified about the request and must approve the request first.
  • Then, the two assigned Entitlement responsibles are notified about the request. One of them must approve the request.
