Release note Personal Desktop Client 5.8.5

Version: 5.8.5

Release Date: 2022-07-12

Detailed features list

Features

Jira ticket noDescription
PER-4493

Read-only mode for PKCS#11 tokens

It is now possible to mark PKCS#11 tokens read-only using the "CSP_PKCS11.P11_ReadOnlyTokens" configuration option.

PER-4494

Cache control for individual applications

It is now possible to set card cache validity period for individual applications using the "CSP_PKCS11.CacheValidity" configuration option.

There has been a change in default Windows configuration file regarding Firefox browser – see https://doc.nexusgroup.com/display/PUB/Firefox+interoperability+for+Personal+Desktop+Client for rationale. If you want to keep using Firefox with PKCS#11 interface instead of native OS integration on Windows, re-enable “P11_AlwaysLoggedInMode=1” in the configuration file for it. This is valid from Personal Desktop Client 5.8.3.

Limitations

  • With this version of Personal Desktop Client we support macOS versions 12.3 and 11.6. This means that macOS version 10 is no longer supported.
  • Support for the new Cosmo V7 and Cosmo V8.2 cards on macOS is limited to PKCS#11.
  • The browse dialog for soft token import does not work on macOS Catalina. Instead, manually enter the full path to the soft token and click Import. For more information, see Personal Desktop Client user's guide.
  • Windows 7 is supported only under extended contract. Contact Nexus for further information.
