Set up card layout template in Identity Manager

A card layout contains the design for the optical appearance of a card, that is, how it is printed. Smart ID Identity Manager supports double-sided printing with security features. The design file has a proprietary syntax and describes the information that will be sent to the Identity Manager Production Client and hence to the card printer during printing. There are two ways of creating a card layout: either you import the design from a file, or you generate a card layout yourself.

To import, consult your system integrator or the software manufacturer so that they can create suitable layout designs.

Prerequisites

Before setting up the card layout template, make sure that the following things apply:

Install Identity Manager
Available layout files
Available data pool fields to be used in the layouts (text fields, portrait, signature ...)

Step-by-step instruction

Log in to Identity Manager Admin

Log in to Identity Manager Admin as Administrator.

Add card layout template

In Identity Manager Admin, go to Home > Layouts.
To add a new card layout template:
1. Click +New. Enter a Name and a Description.
2. Optionally, you can import layout from a file. In that case click Upload and browse to the layout file.
3. Click Save+Edit.
  The Layout panel is shown.
To edit an existing card layout template, double-click on its name.
