Trace HTTP traffic

When you work with web services, especially in the RESTful way, it can be helpful to trace the HTTP traffic to see an application communicating with the service. We recommend the open source tool Fiddler. Download it from https://www.telerik.com/fiddler. With this tool you may trace every HTTP request and may even build test requests to access a web service from Fiddler.

In combination with Visual Studio or Eclipse, you may not see requests immediately from applications developed with these IDEs. This is a known issue for which you can find solutions in Fiddler's FAQ or in the Internet.
