This article describes how a self-service user changes the PIN code for a virtual smart card in Smart ID Self-Service.

  • The virtual smart card must be in state "active"

Step-by-step instruction for the self-service user

  1. Log in to Smart ID Self-Service with your user account.
  1. In Smart ID Self-Service, select Cards in the Self-Service menu.
  2. Select the active virtual smart card that you want to change PIN for.

    To cancel the process, see "Cancel the process" below.

  3. Click Possible actions and select Change PIN.
  4. A pop up is shown where you click Open Smart ID Desktop App.
  5. In Smart ID Desktop App, your virtual smart card is shown. Click Reset PIN.
  6. Enter the new PIN and click OK.
  7. Close Smart ID Desktop App and go back to Smart ID Self-Service.
  8. In Smart ID Self-Service, click Next.

To cancel the process:

  • Click Cancel to close the process.
  • Click Next to proceed with the process.
