When using an external database the "hag" database needs to be created manually. Read the vendor specific documentation on how to properly create a database. The required tables will be created automatically by Digital Access component.

 Create database in MS SQL

Example using the MS SQL command line tool "SQLCMD":

CREATE DATABASE hag
ON (
	NAME = dbName_dat,
	FILENAME = 'C:\databases\hagdb\dbHag.mdf'
)
LOG ON (
	NAME = dbName_log,
	FILENAME = 'C:\databases\hagdb\dbHag.ldf'
)

 Create database in MySQL

Example using the "MySQL Command Line Client":

Step-by-step instructions

 Log in to Digital Access Admin
  1. Log in to Digital Access Admin with an administrator account.
 Configure database service

You can configure what database Digital Access component uses for storing users.

Prerequsite: Create the database first.

  1. In Digital Access Admin, go to Manage System > Database Service.
  2. In the Database drop-down list, select database. The list contains the default configurations for the supported databases. If you use other databases than the default ones, use the Advanced Fields, click ? for more help.
  3. Enter Host and Name. The system will convert this information to the form shown in the Advanced Fields.
  4. Enter User, Password and Retry Attempts, click ? for help.
  5. If you want to configure a database not on the Database drop-down list, click Toggle Advanced Fields and enter Dialect, Url and Driver. Click ? for help.

    When this page is saved it will save the information currently displayed. If the settings are saved while displaying the Standard Fields (Database, Host and Name) the information in the Standard Fields will be used, regardless of what manual changes has been made in the Advanced Fields. The same applies the other way around. If the page is saved while displaying the Advanced Fields the information in those fields will be used, regardless of what information might have been entered in the Standard Fields.

  6. When done, click Save.

 Copy users
  1. Check Copy all users when you want to copy all users from the current Database Service configuration to the one about to be saved.
