Card SDK now supports OpenSSL 3.1 .

Main new features 

Contact/contactless chip encoding

The Evolis Quantum 2 printer now has support for contact/contactless chip encoding.

'D40' and 'EV1' secure messaging modes can be disabled

Updates for EV2, EV3, and EV3C chips as well as for chained writing. Read more in SDK-670 below.

Support for DESFire EV3C chip added

Added support for DESFire EV3C chip using the EV2 application layer with/without a SAM AV3.

You can now change the language for the user interface of CardDesigner and EncodingConfigurator if the applications are called through the CardComposer.


Added support for silent installation of Card SDK with the Wibu dongle driver.


There were some issues with CPU utilization when using CardDesigner, CardComposer, or EncodingConfigurator. This has been fixed now. 


Added support for contact/contactless chip encoding through an Evolis Quantum 2 printer.


Added support for logo alignment in CardDesigner.


'D40' and 'EV1' secure messaging modes in EV2, EV3, and EV3C chips can now be disabled, as well as the chained writing for Standard Data Files, if the 'EV2' secure messaging is used and the communication mode is not set to 'Plain'.


Added support for DESFire EV3C chip using the EV2 application layer with/without a SAM AV3.

Added support for user-defined SAK (Select AcKnowledge) of DESFire EV2, EV3, and EV3C chips. This release includes support of the selected values for the SAK, 2420 (factory default), 2428, and 2438.


In previous releases, there were some minor localization issues. These have been fixed now.


Updated OpenSSL to 1.1.1u. For more information, see Card SDK third party libraries.

Improved the license key validation for generated System IDs.


Enhanced user interface features in CardDesigner, for example, plane switching (YMCK, UV, Laser) that could not clear checkboxes in some cases. The drawing of skinned combo boxes has also been improved and corrected.


Card SDK can now establish a new resource manager context if the previous one is no longer valid. Previously this could cause unwanted behavior in some cases if a device was disconnected.


There was an issue with the faulty output of alpha-blended images with non-square dimensions when at least the three options "Alpha-blending", "Adjust Size", and "Lock Aspect Ratio" had been activated. This has now been fixed. 


There was an issue with the rotation of alpha-blended PNGs after importing to CardDesigner. This has now been fixed. 


There was an issue with the "Encoding Field - Database Field Assignment" dialog if French was selected as the chosen language. This has now been fixed.
