This article describes how to upgrade Smart ID Identity Manager from 5.3.2 to 6.1.3.
Spring framework upgrade
Identity Manager now uses Spring 7 including Spring Batch 6.0. If you have custom code in your project, make sure to check if classnames/packages have changed. For Spring Batch, a list can be found here: Spring Batch 6.0 Migration Guide.
Make sure not to use trailing slashes when calling Identity Manager endpoints, as Spring 7 does not support it by default anymore. See https://docs.spring.io/spring-framework/reference/web/webmvc/filters.html#filters.url-handler for details.
Configure Docker Users And Volume Mounts
Most Smart ID containers have now moved to a more flexible running user and group configuration.
To set up the default user and group id based on how the Docker daemon is configured (root or rootless), run the following script (without sudo):
./set-docker-identity.sh
IDM containers require certain volume mounts, which are set up by calling ./configure-volumes.sh (without sudo):
-
P12 keystores
-
JAR file overrides
-
class file overrides
-
bean-xml config overrides
You need to run this script every time you add/remove/change any of the above for an IDM container.
The script is available with the docker compose files in the file SmartID-26.07.2-deploymentXXXXXX.tgz from the support portal.
For more information, see Deploy Smart ID.
CM SDK upgrade
Identity Manager 6.1 is only compatible with Certificate Manager 8.12 or later versions.
