This article describes how to set up number ranges to be used in Smart ID Identity Manager.
Number ranges are set up in Identity Manager Admin to generate numbers (for example, card numbers) automatically.
Each number range consist of one or more areas from which the number is generated. A number range can, for example, generate numbers from two areas: 1000-1999 and 5000-5999.

Log in to Identity Manager Admin
- Log in to Identity Manager Admin as an
admin
user.
Add number range
To add a number range:
- Go to Home > Number Ranges.
- To add a number range, click +New. Enter details:
- Enter a Name.
- Enter start and end number of the number range in the From and To fields. The 'To' number must be at least as great as the 'From' number.
- Click Save+Edit.
- To edit an existing number range, double-click the name.
Make settings for number range
In the Number Range panel you can make the following settings:
- Click + to add a new area to the number range.
- Enter values in the From and To fields.
- Click OK.
- Check Used to mark a number range as used. This may be used if you already delivered cards with specific numbers that must now be excluded from being generated to avoid duplicates.
- Select Ascending, Descending or Random to specify the order in which the numbers shall be allocated.
- In Leading characters, specify Character and Count. Click the Preview field to see a preview.
- If needed, specify Prefix and Suffix. Click the Preview field to see a preview.
Click Save when done.
