Translate interface texts in Identity Manager
This article includes updates for Smart ID 22.10.3.
In Identity Manager Admin you can translate the names of most configuration elements in Smart ID Identity Manager into several languages. Similarly, you can define the customized help texts for the core application and for the forms of the customized processes into several languages. The current version supports German, English, Swedish and French.
Every translatable text element has a symbolic name in Identity Manager, which is not changeable once it has been assigned. The text element is referenced by this symbolic name in the user interface of the core application and in the data pool and form definitions In Identity Manager each element is identified and referenced by this symbolic name and is translated into the current language of the interface during runtime. The current language is determined when the user logs on.
Symbolic name handling
The handling of symbolic names depends on the source, case, and database. For more information, see Symbolic names in Smart ID Identity Manager.
All translatable texts of the configuration elements are found in the Translations tab and in the Dictionary below it. These texts are sorted alphabetically by the symbolic name or one of the translations. To change sorting, click on the desired column header to switch between ascending or descending sort order. To filter the texts select a letter in the alphabet bar selection box at the bottom. All texts on the page can be listed with 'All'. To perform a search, use the search field. The mechanism searches for patterns in the symbolic name and in all translations. Navigate to the next and previous hits using the arrow keys.
