Requirements and interoperability (macOS)

This article provides a list of supported platforms, formats, third party products, and so on, for Nexus smart card middleware (macOS). All listed hardware and software can be used in supported configurations of the product.

Third party products

The listed third party hardware and software have been verified with the current or a previous version of Nexus Personal Desktop.

Smart card readers

The following smart card readers are supported:

• PC/SC compliant readers

• PC/SC 2.01 Part 10 compliant PIN-pad readers

• HID/Omnikey 6121 Mobile USB smart card reader (to be used with smart cards in SIM format)

Crypto interface

The following crypto interfaces are supported:

• macOS

  • CryptoTokenKit

  • PKCS#11

Smart cards

The following smart cards are supported:

• CardOS 4.3b, 4.4, 5.0, 5.3, 6.0

• D-TRUST card 4.1 Standard, 4.4 Standard,

• Gemalto IDPrime MD 840

• Thales IDPrime MD 940 with Nexus profile

• NXP ChipDoc v7b4 on JCOP3 (IAS-ECC v1.1)
