Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) support for Smart ID Mobile App on Android
This release introduces the foundation for Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) support in the Smart ID Mobile App for Android, enabling the use of FIPS-204 compliant ML-DSA key material across the Smart ID ecosystem as well as third-party integrations.
New capabilities

Issuance of Mobile Virtual Smart Cards (VSCs) containing FIPS-204 ML-DSA key material through the standard provisioning flow via Hermod.

Support for online authentication using ML-DSA credentials.

Support for digital signing operations using ML-DSA credentials.

Scope and deliverables
This release represents the initial ("Genesis") PQC implementation for Android and includes the research, architecture alignment, prototyping, and implementation activities required to enable production-ready support for post-quantum authentication and signing workflows.
This enhancement prepares the Smart ID platform for the transition toward quantum-resistant cryptographic credentials while maintaining a seamless user experience for mobile authentication and signing.
