This article describes how an operator assigns a temporary card in Smart ID Identity Manager. Read more here:Smart ID Workforce use cases
The Assign temporary card use case is default enabled to run on an unassigned temporary card. To enable it for a user instead, see below. One active temporary card per user is allowed by default. For information about how to change this, see Temporary cards - Manage option to allow multiple active temporary cards.

For the default scenario, when the process is run on the temporary card:
The card(s) need to be in state "requested"
For the optional scenario, when the process is run on the user:
The user (that shall have the temporary card) must be in state "active"
Enable Assign temporary card on the user
Log in to Identity Manager Admin with your admin user.
Go toHome > Identities.
Select and editUser.
Select theActivetab.
In Additional Commands, click New (the pen symbol) to add a row.
InAdditional Commands, selectAssign temporary cardto add it to theProcesslist.
ClickSave.
Step-by-step instruction for the operator
Log in to Identity Manager Operator
Log in to Identity Manager Operator with your user account.
Default scenario
Assign temporary card (run on the temporary card)
In the SEARCHpage, select Temporary card in the drop-down list.
Select state Unassigned in the Status drop-down list, and click Search. A list of cards with state unassigned appears.
Select the card you want to assign and click Assign temporary card.
To cancel the process, see "Cancel the process" below.
Search for and select the user.
Click Next to finish. The card will now be in state assigned.
Optional scenario
Assign temporary card (run on the user)
In the Quick search drop-down list, select User and search for the user that shall have the temporary card.
Click Assign temporary card.
To cancel the process, see "Cancel the process" below.
Click Search temporary card and select the card you want to assign. Card data and user data is shown.
Click Next to assign the temporary card to the user. The card will now be in the state assigned.
Depending on the configuration, there can be options added to the use case, see "Options" below.
