A self-service user has forgotten the password to Smart ID Self-Service and needs a new password.
This article describes how you as a self-service user resets a forgotten password in Smart ID Self-Service. You will receive the new password in an email with instructions.

- The user must be in state "active"
Step-by-step instruction for the self-service user
Reset forgotten password
- In Smart ID Self-Service, click Forgot Password.
Enter your email address, associated with your Smart ID Self-Service account, and click Next. Your password will be reset and you will receive a new password via email with instructions.
To cancel the process, see "Cancel the process" below.
- Click Next and the email will be sent.

To cancel the process:
- Click Cancel to close the process.
- Click Next to proceed with the process.
